Roof Slab Waterproofing Works at Mukono District Local Government

TETRABUILD Services Limited was subcontracted by KIRU General Services Ltd to undertake waterproofing works to a concrete roof slab for the Mukono District Local Government Office extension.

The waterproofing works were undertaken using two layers of 4mm EPDM APP Torch On membrane primed with a bituminous coating. The first layer was of a smooth membrane and a second layer was applied in the cross direction of the mineral membrane.

KIRU undertook the surface preparation works for the existing concrete surface layer and screeded the slab surface to provide a drainage slope to the outlet drains.  Corners and joints were modified with a chamfer detail to enable the proper laying of the membrane.
