Waterproofing Works at Innovation Consortium Offices; Mbalwa

TETRABUILD Services Limited was contracted to undertake waterproofing works to a leaking roof slab built using precast concrete beams joined together with a minimal 50mm thick slab overlay.

The waterproofing works were undertaken using the APP Torch On membrane primed with a bituminous coating. The existing concrete surface was well prepared by surface grinding and then a layer of waterproof plaster screeded over the entire slab using Xypex waterproofing products (Admix).

Short upstands were built up all around openings to create a step and avoid direct seepage of water into the room below. All repair mortars and plastered surfaces were treated with Xypex Admix (Waterproofing chemical) added to the mortar.
